COCOGREEN COCO PEAT
We sell 100% dehydrated and compacted coco peat blocks that when hydrated can make approximately 25 liters of growing medium. It comes in various fiber lengths, buffer ranges, and washed ranges depending on what the grower needs.

What is coco peat?
Coco-peat is entirely derived from the excess of the coconut industry. It is 100% natural and 100% renewable and can be used for a wide variety of plants. It is also neutral although acidic versions for berries, including our Berry Fusion, can give growers some of the best media on the market. Coco peat is renowned for its water retention and naturally low nutrients making it perfect for hydroponics, aquaponics, and substrate growing where precise nutrient levels need to be maintained.

How to Use Coco Peat:
Reconstituting the bricks
(Coconut peat, or coconut coir, comes in compressed form and expands to about 5 times its volume after it is reconstituted.)
Break up the brick in parts and throw it in a large bucket
Add water; enough to saturate the brick
Allow the dry coco peat to sit in the water for approximately 5 to 10 minutes so that it can become loose and absorb the water
Stir and fluff the coco peat after 10 to 15 minutes. Add more water if it looks dry, but stop if it is loose.
Stir and fluff again after a few minutes to make sure all of it has been moistened. Add more water if it is not yet loose.
Once you see the moist and loose coco peat, it is ready to be used in the garden.

How to use coco peat in the garden:
Mix in the soil at a 1:3 ratio
Coco peat can be directly incorporated into the garden soil to improve water retention, aeration and to decrease the risk of soil fungus and root diseases.
It can also be used as a mulch around garden plants to help the soil retain moisture and prevent weed growth.

How to Use coco peat in pots:
Coco peat can be used as a soilless growing medium for potted plants, or in aqua/hydro-culture growing environments.
Add the reconstituted bricks to planters, leaving 1 inch of space below the planter rim. Plant a seed or seedling in the center. Fertilizer and soil will need to be added to sustain a plant long-term when it is planted in coco peat.
For those who are unsure of how to use coco peat in pots – add a 1/4 part of coco peat into the potting mix.
Container gardens dry out faster, so apply a 1-inch layer of coco peat over the container soil to help the soil retain moisture.
Coco peat can also be the only growing medium for starting seeds, on top of being one of the best, as it contains no nutrients and retains moisture extremely well. Once the shoots start to form you can transplant seedlings into the pots.
